NFG is officially a non-profit... what this means for you!
We are excited to announce that as of July 12th the Nashville Filmmakers Guild is officially a non-profit and has received their 501(c)(3) status from the IRS. The process took a lot less that usual so we were a little surprised to have received the notification so early!
Now, what does this mean for you?
In short, this means NFG is now able to immediately begin putting into action the ideas and plans laid out earlier this year that will impact members of NFG and the surrounding community. We have already hosted two successful workshops with local vendors such as DR&A and global companies such as Kodak. However, this is only the beginning!
Our goal of providing educational and networking opportunities has begun but we can now start doing more. With the help from sponsors and paid memberships we will be able to begin marketing our efforts and creating projects that are not only beneficial to our members but the Nashville community as a whole. What this exactly looks like is being planned now so it’s too early to mention but needless to say we are positioning NFG to be a central resource for film and video professionals and the those seeking the skills and crafts of our members.
